Have you ever tried on an outfit that looked incredible on someone else, only to put it on yourself and think, “Why does this look completely different?”

It isn’t necessarily the clothes.

It might simply be that the cut, proportions or silhouette aren’t working with your natural shape.

And let’s be clear: this isn’t about needing to be thinner, changing your body or learning a list of things you’re supposedly “not allowed” to wear. Your body isn’t the problem.

The goal of body shape analysis is to understand your natural proportions so you can make clothes work for you.

Once you know how your shoulders, waist, hips and overall proportions relate to one another, choosing clothing becomes much easier. You can start recognising the silhouettes that create the look you want, the fabrics that fall beautifully on your body, and the prints and colour combinations that help create balance.

That’s exactly what this AI Body Shape Analysis is designed to help you do.

Using your photographs, measurements and personal styling goals, the prompt analyses your proportions and overall silhouette to identify your most likely body shape. It then turns that information into practical styling recommendations tailored to your body.

With this AI Body Shape Analysis, you’ll discover:

  • Your body shape
  • Your most flattering silhouettes
  • Fabrics that work well with your proportions
  • Prints that flatter
  • Colour-blocking ideas
  • Clothing styles that may be less flattering

And this is where it gets really useful.

Rather than simply telling you that you’re an “hourglass”, “pear” or “rectangle” and leaving you to Google what that means, the second part of the prompt turns your results into a visual styling guide — showing you how to apply the information when you’re actually getting dressed.

Because knowing your body shape is interesting.

Knowing what to do with that information is much more useful.

STEP 1: Verify body dimensions

Before begining, it is recommended that you read the photo guide. Then follow the instructions below. Everything in green should be pasted into ChatGPT* along with the recommended photos.

Copy/paste the prompt below into ChatGPT, upload your photos (6), and answer any questions ChatGPT asks to personalise your analysis.

You are a professional image consultant and personal stylist. Analyse my uploaded full body photographs. Determine my body shape using professional styling principles.

Assess:

  • Shoulder width
  • Bust proportion
  • Waist definition
  • Hip proportion
  • Vertical line
  • Limb proportions
  • Overall silhouette

Determine whether I am:

  • Hourglass
  • Soft Hourglass
  • Pear
  • Inverted Triangle
  • Rectangle
  • Apple
  • Spoon
  • Athletic
  • Other (if more accurate)

Before you assess, ask me these questions one at a time to ensure the photo is an accurate representation of my natural features. If you already have the answers, no need to ask again.

  • What is your height?
  • What is your weight?
  • What is your average clothing size?
  • What is your bra size?
  • What is your waist circumference?
  • What is your hip circumference?
  • What is your shoulder width?
  • What is your biggest fit challenge: A) Bust B) Waist C)Hips D) Thighs E) Shoulders
  • What would you like to enhance: A) Look taller B) Look slimmer C) Create curves D) Minimise tummy E) Define waist F) Balance hips G) Balance shoulders H) Look elegant I) Look younger J) Look expensive K) Look more feminine

If anything is unclear feel free to ask questions so that your assessment can be accurate based on facts and not assumptions.

Before assigning a body shape, verify that:

  • Body shape matches the assigned shape
  • Overall body proportions support the final result
  • Assigned body shape is more accurate than the closest alternative

STEP 2: Create body shape report

1. Copy and paste the prompt below into ChatGPT, and upload your front-facing full length photo again.

Present the analysis as a professionally designed editorial fashion report rather than plain text. The final output should resemble a luxury personal styling portfolio created by a high-end fashion consultant. Prioritise elegant layouts, visual hierarchy, icons, illustrations, outfit inspiration, wardrobe boards, and beautifully organised sections over long paragraphs. Keep written explanations concise and highly readable. Use my front-facing full body uploaded photograph as the reference. Do not change my appearance or identity. Assume the client will spend no more than 20 seconds viewing each page before deciding whether the report feels premium. The final report should be a png.

PAGE 1: BODY SHAPE REPORT

Using my front-facing full body uploaded selfie as the visual, create a body shape report including the top features that define my shape.

PAGE 2: STYLE PRINCIPLES

  • On the left hand side, list the top style principles for my body shape and include my best silhouettes with a one sentence explaining below each point. You can make use of icons
  • On the right handside. Include a section for my best silhouettes.

PAGE 3: FABRICS & PRINTS

  • Show my best fabrics with swatches
  • Show prints that flatter with swatches
  • List fabric and prints to avoid.

PAGE 4: COLOUR BLOCKING

Show i) Best colour placement, ii) Balanced colour flow and iii) Colours to emphasise. Below each colour blocking section, write a very short description.

Also include a swatch section with colours that elevate me beneath the colour blocking.

  • My body shape using my uploaded front-facing selfie
  • My body shape style principles
  • My body shape best fabrics and prints; and fabric and prints to avoid
  • Body shape colour blocking

IMAGE GENERATION REQUEST – IMPORTANT:

  • Generate ONE finished, high-resolution PNG image and display it directly in the chat as the final visual.
  • I do not want a document or downloadable file. I want to see the actual designed image in the conversation.
  • Do not create a PDF, DOCX, Canva file, presentation, report attachment, or other document.
  • Do not give me a text-only response.
  • Do not give me a download link.
  • The output should be the image itself.

Important style instructions:

  • Use concise text with generous white space instead of dense paragraphs.
  • Body text should be equivalent to 22–26 pt.
  • Headings should be equivalent to 48–72 pt in a rusty pink tone and elegant serif font.
  • Never use tiny captions or small body text.
  • Each page has a header
  • Report must be portrait
  • Maintain high contrast between text and background.
  • Never place text over images or illustrations.
  • Ensure every page remains fully legible and easy to read at 100% zoom.
  • Make each page a finished image, not just a written answer.
  • Use soft cream, beige, warm neutral, with the primary colour being hex #C07466.
  • Use organised boxes, swatches, icons, and mini visuals.
  • Do not use generic colours or generic advice.
  • Do not create a written report. Each page should feel like a premium magazine or luxury coffee-table book, with a clean, modern layout that balances text and visuals without clutter.

Verify:

  • Clothing compliments body shape
  • All recommendations belong to assigned body shape
  • Uploaded full body pictures used remains recognisably the same person
  • No conflicting recommendations
  • Report appears professionally designed
  • All words in the report are in English and spelt correctly and make sense
  • Report looks like a luxury colour consultation worth purchasing
  • Report is high resolution and big enough so that it is legible
  • Each page is 1080 × 1350 pixels • 4:5 vertical ratio • Luxury magazine quality • Professionally organised • Fully finished and presentation-ready

*AI prompt body shape analysis FAQ

Which AI Should I Use?

These prompts have been specifically designed and extensively tested for ChatGPT. You are welcome to experiment with other AI platforms if you wish, but results may vary significantly. Because every AI model interprets prompts differently, I cannot guarantee the same level of quality or accuracy outside of ChatGPT.

What if I only have the free version of ChatGPT?

If you’re using the free version of ChatGPT, you may reach your daily usage limit before completing every prompt in the personal style system, and that’s completely okay. Simply start a new chat when you’re able and upload your photograph again before continuing with the next prompt. Please note that free ChatGPT accounts may only allow approximately 2–3 image analyses or reports per day, depending on OpenAI’s current usage limits. These limits may change over time and are outside of my control.

Why is knowing my body shape useful?

Understanding your body shape can help you choose silhouettes, proportions and clothing styles that work with your natural shape. It isn’t about hiding your body or changing it — it’s about knowing what makes your clothes fit and look their best.

Will my body shape change if I lose or gain weight?

It can. Changes in weight may affect your proportions and where you carry fullness, although your underlying proportions may remain fairly consistent. That’s why the analysis also considers measurements, fit challenges and your individual styling goals.

What will my body shape analysis recommend?

Your report looks at more than just your body shape. You’ll get personalised recommendations for silhouettes, fabrics, prints and colour placement, as well as styles that may be less flattering. The aim is to give you practical guidelines for building outfits that feel balanced, polished and comfortable.

What are the six Personal Style prompts?

The Personal Style System includes six personalised AI analyses:

  1. AI Personal Colour Analysis — Discover your 12-season colour palette, undertone, best neutrals, metals, patterns and colours to avoid.
  2. AI Makeup Colour Analysis — Find the makeup shades that complement your colouring, including foundation, blush, eyeshadow and lipstick.
  3. AI Hair Colour Analysis — Discover your most flattering hair colour direction, highlights, dimension and shades to avoid.
  4. AI Face Shape Analysis — Understand your facial proportions and discover flattering hairstyles, makeup placement, glasses, earrings and necklines.
  5. AI Body Shape Analysis — Learn which silhouettes, fabrics, prints and colour combinations create balance and proportion for your body.
  6. AI Personal Style Identity — Bring everything together to create your signature aesthetic, outfit formulas, shopping priorities and wardrobe direction.

Which Personal Style prompt should I do first?

I recommend starting with this prompt first: AI Personal Colour Analysis. Colour analysis provides useful information for several of the later prompts, particularly your makeup, hair and colour style recommendations. For the best results, follow the system in this order: Colour → Makeup → Hair → Colour Style → Face Shape → Body Shape → Personal Style Identity. You don’t have to complete them all at once. You can work through them at your own pace.
